FARBOUND Download

Privacy Policy

Effective August 3, 2026

The short version

Farbound has no accounts, no ads, no analytics packages and no trackers. We do not collect, sell or share personal information. The app asks the operating system for two permissions, location and motion, and both serve one feature on your screen. Neither leaves your phone.

Location

The Celestial Compass asks for your location so it can draw the sky above the place you are standing. The request happens when you open the Compass, uses roughly kilometer precision, and works like this:

You can decline the permission. The Compass then falls back to a city you pick by hand, and every feature keeps working.

Motion

The Compass reads the phone's orientation sensors so the sky moves when you move. Sensor readings are processed on the device and are not stored or transmitted.

Purchases

Apple processes all purchases. We receive an anonymous receipt confirming the purchase so the app can unlock what you bought. We never see your name, card number or billing details.

Content requests

Farbound downloads imagery, articles and narration audio from our content servers and from public space agency archives. These are ordinary web requests. They carry no account, no advertising identifier and no personal profile. Our servers keep the standard short-lived technical logs that come with operating any web service, and we use those only to keep the service running.

Children

Farbound is safe for children for the same reason it is safe for everyone: the app does not collect personal information from any user, of any age.

Changes

If the app's behavior ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and change the date at the top before the new behavior ships.
